Help me test the product strategy skills

Thank you for helping. I’m testing my 32 Claude skills for product strategy with a few product people so the next version gets better. Plan for about 30–45 minutes.

Only use real company information if your company allows it. If you’re unsure, use the fictional case below.

How it works

  1. InstallDownload the skills and add company-context plus the one or two skills you want to try as custom skills in Claude.
  2. Set the contextCreate a Claude Project, ask Claude to “set up our company context” and add the file it gives you to the Project. Use your own company, or the fictional case below.
  3. Run a skillStart a new chat in the Project and give Claude a real question in your own words. Don’t name the skill, and see whether Claude picks the right one.
  4. Tell me how it wentFill in the form once for each skill you tried. Honest is more useful than kind.

Good skills to start with

These six cover the most ground. Here’s the kind of thing you could ask.

SkillTry asking
strategic-question-frame“We need a strategy for next year. Help me work out which decision it actually has to answer.”
red-team-review“Argue as hard as you can against this plan before I take it to leadership.”
business-case“Build the business case for this initiative. Finance wants payback and the assumptions.”
strategic-bets“Turn our chosen direction into bets we can be proven wrong on.”
not-doing-list“Help me write down what we’re saying no to this year, and what it costs us.”
board-memo“Draft the board memo for our next meeting from these notes.”

A fictional test case

Use this if you’d rather not use your own company. Tallvik and everything about it is made up.

  • Tallvik makes scheduling software for home-care providers in Sweden and Norway.
  • Business model: a monthly subscription per care worker. Stage: growth, around 140 customers and 60 employees.
  • The question: should Tallvik go after municipalities, with public procurement, long sales cycles and large contracts, or grow deeper with private care providers?
  • What the team knows: few large private customers leave, but small ones leave more often. Two municipalities have asked for demos. Procurement takes 9–18 months. The CTO is worried about integration with municipal systems.
  • Decision owner: the CEO, with the board in March 2027.

Tip: paste the whole case into Claude and ask it to “set up our company context” from it.

Feedback

One form per skill you tried. Fields marked * are required.

What did you run it on?
Did Claude pick the skill by itself?
How useful was the output as a first draft? *

1 = not useful, 5 = I’d use it almost as it is

Did it ask the right questions before drafting?
Which of the four rules did it follow?
Did it make anything up, such as numbers, competitors or quotes?
Compared with doing it yourself, it was…
Would you use it again on real work? *

I only use your answers to improve the skills. I won’t share your name or email.
